Association VOX Iuventutis was established in 2010. Our association’s objective is to develop projects related to environment protection and non-formal environmental education of children by involving local youngsters, and youngsters from all-over Europe to promote volunteering, active citizenship and to organize useful skill developing free time activities. We consider the education of children very important, so they will become more responsible for nature that surrounds them. In the past four years, both as informal group and as an association, we have developed projects that are related to the two objectives above.
In 2011, we opened the Saint Anne Youth Center, where we organise free time actives for children and youngsters, 5 days a week in different topics, and using different non-formal educational methods. We organise handicraft activities, recycling activities, group workshops, outdoor activities, film clubs, language clubs and thematic workshops (Easter, Christmas, Day of Water, etc.). Beside the activities in our Youth Center, we would like to build a stable bridge between the institutions (kindergarten, Child Care Home, school, local council) and the local civil organisations.
“Non-formal life” is a long term EVS project located in Baile Tusnad, and partially in region. We host four volunteers from Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia and Hungary. Volunteers are doing their service between the November of 2016 and the October of 2017. Volunteers are going to help the activities of Saint Anne Youth Center. Target group of our activities are mostly children and youngsters of our close region. One important aspect is to prepare, promote and carry out activities in topic the volunteers are interested about but beside that they are going to help and work on establishing cooperation with local and regional institutions with the aim to develop future international ERASMUS+ projects (youth exchanges, job shadowing, stuff exchanges between institutions). These cooperation may help the local and regional education system to meet new methods and establish stable, international cooperation in Europe. We would like to raise the sense of social responsibility, and we believe that local people can see the future of our Town more positively. The title of the project also reflects on the importance of Non-formal educational methods in our opinion. During this project we will pay more attention on visibility by providing regular containment on this blog site, where would like to show the life of our EVS volunteers, how they feel about EVS, about the hosting country, about their activities.
The blog is running since our previous project, called “Change of mind”. The posts, which were created before the October of 2016, were made by the previous group, so you canr ead about their experience as well.
Have a good time on the site… 🙂
